Well, I couldn't wait.

You know how in my last post I said I wasn't going to weigh myself again until Halloween?  Like the END of next month?  Well, I lied.  I had a bad week of dieting, and unfortunate circumstances that made it nearly impossible to work out all week.  So I figured if I stepped on the scale I would see no weigh loss, and that would encourage me to work harder in the coming weeks.  I weighed 190!!!!!  That is like a 4-5lbs loss in 2.5 weeks or so!!!  Way better than I expected.  I am still smiling when I think of it.  Lol  I guess I should hit my goal of being in the 180's by Halloween!  I think I may have my goal be 184 by Halloween.  Let's see if I can do it!  If I keep at this pace, then it should be no problem.

In sadder news though, Nan passed away last night. She is my great-grandma, and she lived a long wonderful 95 years.  We all knew it was coming, but it doesn't make it any less sad.  For the past year and a half (since the weekend after N was born) she has been on hospice, being cared for mostly by Nanny.  Two and a half weeks ago she had another stroke, and has just gone downhill since then.  I am so glad that I was able to make it out to see her 2 weekends ago with Natalie.  I had a chance to say good-bye.  The funeral is this Tuesday, and we will all be going out of town for it.  I will miss you Nan.  Love you lots.

It's been a while

It's been a while since I posted any updates.  I've been so busy since starting back at work!  I think I am still doing well though.  :)  About a week and a half I decided not to weigh myself again until Halloween.  I need to see the scale make a big move instead of all these tiny 1-2 pound fluctuations.  That will give me a month and a half, and by then I am hoping to be in the 180's somewhere.  I know I must still be losing weight because I feel like my clothes are fitting looser and I feel better about myself!  So only time will tell.  :)

I have still been working out 3-4 days a week.  I wish it could be more, but there is just no time!  As it is, if I don't workout in the morning before work I still have to get up 5:30.  So if I DO want to workout, I need to be up by 4am!  I have only done that twice so far, but hope to make it at least 1-2 times a week habit.  I know I can do it, it's just rolling out of bed that is the hardest!  Yesterday morning I got up and went one hour on the treadmill.  I went 4.5 miles!  I am pretty sure I will be doing a 5k the weekend of October 22nd.  My first running 5k, right after my 25th birthday!  How fitting.  :)

I am doing well on my calories most days.  If anything I might go over by 100 or so.  But even with that, I should still be losing weight.  I'm not going to lie, I will be really disappointed if I don't make my goal of being in the 180's by end of October.  All this work better be for something!  That's it for now - I will try and post more often though.  I need to take progress pics soon!

25 minutes!!

For the past 2 weeks or so all of my running as been with using the Jeff Galloway (JG) running plans.  I do run 2 minutes, walk one.  My running has been anywhere between 5mph and 5.6mph, then my walking speed is anywhere from 3.2 if  am really tired up to 4.0.  Today I decided to do a straight run instead of intervals.  In the past the farthest I have ever run straight was one mile in 12:20.  Today I up and ran for 25 minutes straight!!  I am so freaking proud of myself!  I ran at a nice slow pace of 5.0, but didn't stop or slow down at all.  I went over 2 miles!  This makes me think I could go on and do a 5k running right now.  This means my interval training is paying off!  I was so impressed that I could run for that long.  And truth be told, I could have kept going for a little while, but I was tired and happy with my workout.  This week I think during the week I will stick with intervals, and then next weekend try and run a straight 5k.  I am so confident now that I can do this!  It was really fun too.  :)
